Under the evocative title “CONTEMPLATIONS”, this captivating exhibition is presented from May 16 to June 11, 2024 at the gallery located in the heart of the Marais, in Paris, offering a unique opportunity to discover the emotional and spiritual universe of the artist. Raisa Gates' work explores the depths of the soul through a series of female characters in search of spirituality and reflection, influenced by the Buddhist philosophy of her father and Picasso's iconic work, “Guernica”. This series, a true hymn to emotion and poetry, invites viewers to deep introspection, where stillness becomes the fertile ground of human experience. In the “CONTEMPLATIONS” series, Raisa Gates brings frozen characters to life in moments of deep reflection, capturing the very essence of stillness and silence. Inspired by the Tao Te Ching and Buddhist philosophy, each painting offers a visual meditation on human emotions, oscillating between sadness and serenity, but always imbued with hope, symbolized by a small Terra Cota flower, a true icon of the universality of hope. Raisa Gates' works celebrate tranquility and inner balance, inviting the viewer on a personal quest for peace and serenity. Through a palette of colors inspired by nature, from Terra Cota shades to warm color gradients, the artist transports us into a poetic universe where the elements, notably the earth, blend harmoniously with the human condition.
